It all began during one of our Tea breaks at the office that we decided to venture out for a short road trip on motorbikes during the weekend. Fortunately, being in a gang of like-minded people with similar tastes to explore places around, it was easier for us to finalize the place to go for bike-riding. It was Saturday and we wanted to refresh our mind from our daily 9 to 5 routine. Initially, we decided to head towards Sindhuli. However, because of the unpredictable weather, it was raining heavily that morning, so, after it stopped raining, we then decided to go on a short bike ride and ended up heading off towards Lakuri Bhanjyang for some refreshment.
Lakuri Bhanjyang is around 13 km up from Gwarko, Lalitpur. It is believed to be one of the most scenic spots in Lalitpur district. You will get to see the spectacular view of Kathmandu and Lalitpur valley from the Bhanjyang. And, from the Ranikot or Gyampe Danda you’ll get to see Bhaktapur as well. It is about an hour and a half ride to Lakuri Bhanjyang from Gwarko.
We were a total of seven with 4 motorbikes and left on our bike from our office building. The roads were pretty smooth to Lakuri Bhanjyang and we didn’t face much traffic as well. After riding for around an hour, we reached Lakuri Bhanjyang Chowk and we stopped for a short break. Then, we headed towards the top of Lakuri Bhanjyang; and only after a while, we reached the top. The view from there would have been spectacular, however, because of the foggy weather, we couldn’t get the chance to enjoy the view. But, we still had a lot of fun there; we flew a drone, and we were just enjoying our leisure time.
Then, we decided to take a different route to return. We rode from Pilot Baba to Suryabinayak and headed towards our office, the place where we started our ride. Again, the ride was quite smooth and because of the chilled weather and low traffic, the bike ride was just amazing.
If you’re bored and have a day off or something like that, we would definitely suggest you go for a ride to Lakuri Bhanjyang, especially on Saturdays. It is a great place to get a quick refreshment during weekends and we guarantee you that the sceneries would not disappoint you as well.
